This is Cisco. He’s a 12 year old miniature poodle who is always overwhelmingly positive and upbeat. The slide show features some of the many things that Cisco does. He’s always happy to participate in anything you want to do and he really, really likes people to visit. The more people that visit, the happier he is.
Health note: As he ages, Cisco has become diabetic. It turns out that this is very common in poodles. So far, we’ve been able to regulate his condition. He has to have insulin shots twice daily just before he eats. Fortunately, the needles are so tiny that he usually doesn’t flinch.
One of the side-effects of diabetes in dogs is the development of cataracts. Cisco is now showing some signs of this and his eyes are starting to become cloudy. He still sees well enough to have fun. He remains happy and ready to do whatever we want, although he’s slower now.
12/09 Sad Update-Cisco now has bladder cancer. Not treatable, so we’re in a waiting pattern.
3/10 The cancer progressed to the point where Cisco was miserable and when he started passing lots of blood we made the decision to have him put down. We miss him.
